INDIANAPOLIS, March 12:
The Indiana State Chapter of NRNA NCC of USA marked the International Women’s Day amid a function here on Sunday. The State Chapter organized a women’s health seminar on breast and gynecologic cancers (cervical, ovarian, uterine/endometrial and vulvar) to raise awareness among the participants. Dr. Varsha Nagarsenkar Shrestha shed light on the risk factors, symptoms, early detection, and treatment procedures of these illnesses during her presentation.
In the second session of the program, motivational speaker and philanthropist Buna Dahal presented on “Disaster to Development: A Mobile Mammography for Nepal.” Dahal said that the multi-year program launched in partnership with Rotary Club International and Project C.U.R.E aims at purchasing a cutting-edge equipment for Nepal. She emphasized that the mobile mammography would be crucial for increasing women’s access to medical treatment of breast cancer by detecting the illness early on. 



At the program, $4,330 was collected as donation from the participants for mobile mammography.
Also at the function, NRNA NCC USA Board of Director Gopendra Bhattrai handed over photo-bearing ID cards of NRNA to Chapter’s President Rajeev Shrestha, and the cards were subsequently distributed to NRNA Indiana members. At the program, Board of Director Bhattrai, Chapter President Shrestha, Nepalese Association of Indiana (NAI) President Arun Rajbhandari, Chapter’s Woman Coordinator Anuradha Gyawali expressed their views on Women’s Day and wished for the success of the mobile mammography drive.
The program was moderated by Chapter’s Secretary Devi Raman Pandit.
