{"id":2397,"date":"2018-02-01T16:42:28","date_gmt":"2018-02-01T16:42:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/durbinnepal.com\/en\/?p=2397"},"modified":"2018-02-01T16:42:28","modified_gmt":"2018-02-01T16:42:28","slug":"china-urges-u-s-not-to-politicize-trade-issues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/durbinnepal.com\/en\/2018\/02\/01\/china-urges-u-s-not-to-politicize-trade-issues\/","title":{"rendered":"China urges U.S. not to &#8220;politicize&#8221; trade issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">BEIJING, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) &#8212; China&#8217;s Ministry of Commerce Thursday urged the United States not to &#8220;politicize&#8221; economic and trade issues between the two countries after U.S. President Donald Trump singled out China and Russia as rivals that challenged U.S. interests, economy, and values.<br \/>\n&#8220;In the trade area, we tend to see the United States as our partner,&#8221; said ministry spokesperson Gao Feng at a press conference.<br \/>\nHe called on the United States to abandon its Cold War mentality to promote trade ties between the two sides to move in the right direction.<br \/>\nIn response to Trump&#8217;s reiteration of fair and reciprocal trade in his first State of the Union address, Gao said the fair trade should be based on international rules instead of unilateral standards.<br \/>\nAs for reciprocal trade, the United States should stop seeing trade as a zero-sum game, Gao added.<br \/>\nHe stressed the win-win dynamics in China-U.S. trade ties, as the two countries are each other&#8217;s most important trade partners and investment destinations.<br \/>\nIn 2017, China-U.S. trade volume grew to some 580 billion U.S. dollars.
