{"id":5149,"date":"2018-06-21T00:49:27","date_gmt":"2018-06-21T00:49:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/durbinnepal.com\/en\/?p=5149"},"modified":"2018-06-21T00:49:28","modified_gmt":"2018-06-21T00:49:28","slug":"trump-orders-families-to-be-held-together","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/durbinnepal.com\/en\/2018\/06\/21\/trump-orders-families-to-be-held-together\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump orders families to be held together"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Los Angeles, June 20:<\/p>\n<p>US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday in order to allow minor children to stay with their parents during the process of prosecution and deportation at the border.<\/p>\n<p>The administration will &#8220;maintain family unity, including by detaining alien families together where appropriate and consistent with law and available resources,&#8221; the executive order&#8217;s text says.<\/p>\n<p>The executive order will, however, maintain key components of the administration&#8217;s &#8220;zero tolerance&#8221; policy of prosecuting illegal border crossings along the US-Mexico border.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&#8217;s executive order only protects against family separation for 20 days<\/p>\n<p>In a shift from previous policy, families will now be held together during the process of prosecution and deportation at the border.<\/p>\n<p>CBS report says Trump reversed his stance on zero tolerance after his daughter Ivanka and first lady Melania Trump both felt strongly about images of young children separated from their families at the border.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Los Angeles, June 20: US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday in order to allow minor children to stay with their parents during the process of prosecution and deportation at the border.
