{"id":5889,"date":"2018-09-10T15:27:41","date_gmt":"2018-09-10T15:27:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/durbinnepal.com\/en\/?p=5889"},"modified":"2018-09-10T15:27:41","modified_gmt":"2018-09-10T15:27:41","slug":"mishras-journey-from-section-officer-to-the-top-post-of-the-judiciary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/durbinnepal.com\/en\/2018\/09\/10\/mishras-journey-from-section-officer-to-the-top-post-of-the-judiciary\/","title":{"rendered":"Mishra&#8217;s journey from section officer to the top post of the Judiciary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Kathmandu, Sept 10: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Monday administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Chief Justice Om Prakash Mishra.<br \/>\nMishra was sworn in at a special function at the Office of the President amid the presence of Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Justices of the Supreme Court and judges of the High Courts and other top ranking officials of the government.<br \/>\nEarlier today, the parliamentary hearing committee approved the name of Mishra as the CJ after his name was recommended from the Constitutional Council (CC). Acting CJ Mishra was recommended for the top post of the judiciary from the CC meeting held on 23 August.<br \/>\nMishra, who had begun his career as a section officer of the Ministry of Law, has got the highest job of the judiciary in the capacity of the 28th Chief Justice. Born to Mahesh Dutt and Annapurna in 2010 BS at Rayapur in Rupandehi, Mishra had joined the service in 2038 BS from the Law Ministry.<br \/>\nMishra has earned Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Law and Master&#8217;s Degree in Political Science from Tribhuvan University and Master&#8217;s Degree in Law from Delhi University, India.<br \/>\nMishra also served as the district judge in Jajarkot, Pyuthan, Kailali, Morang and Kathmandu. Likewise, he worked in the Biratnagar Appellate Court and Special Court, and served as the Chief Judge of Rajbiraj Appellate Court since 2069 BS.<br \/>\nMishra was elevated to the SC Justice from 2071.
