Los Angeles, May 31:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The City of Los Angeles has extended the imposition of overnight curfew<\/span> <\/span><\/span>until Monday morning<\/a><\/span> <\/span><\/span>after a spate of violence and unrest went out of control. The curfew will<\/span> <\/span><\/span>start at 8 p.m. on Sunday night<\/a><\/span> <\/span><\/span>and will remain in effect<\/span> <\/span><\/span>until 5:30 a. m. on Monday<\/a><\/span>, Mayor Eric Garcetti said on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n

The overnight curfew was first imposed<\/span> <\/span><\/span>on Saturday night<\/a><\/span> <\/span><\/span>to maintain law and order, Garcetti said. \u201cWhen times demand it, strong steps are required to bring peace back to our city.\u201d On Saturday, the Mayor had requested over 1,000 national guards as the Los Angeles Police Department and local law enforcement agencies struggled to control arson and looting. Guardsmen patrolled the LA streets early<\/span> <\/span><\/span>Sunday morning<\/a><\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
