Clean Environment Mega Campaign inaugurated

Kathmandu, May 30 : Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara inaugurated ‘Clean Environment Mega Campaign-2075’ initiated at the initiative of the Ministry of Forests and Environment.
Speaker Mahara today inaugurated the mega camping, launched on the occasion of World Environment Day, by sweeping the roads at Shankhapark, Kathmandu.
On the occasion, he said that we all should start cleanliness from ourselves to build clean environment.
Saying the goal could not be achieved after escaping from the responsibility of implementing the policy and planning, Speaker Mahara urged to make the campaign successful.
Similarly, Forests Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet said that human sanitation was not only the responsibility of the government and it was the responsibility of all people.
He said that the trend of blaming the government after throwing garbage out of the houses should be ended.
Minister Basnet said, “The garbage thrown by anybody at the roads of Capital will be cleaned through Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the amount spend for this activity would be charged from those throwing the garbage on the roads.”
The mega campaign, forwarded by the Forests Ministry with coordination of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, would be continued and Minister Basnet will participate once in a week in the campaign, said Minister Basent’s Press Coordinator, Dayanidhi Bhatta.
The campaign started from Shankhapark concluded after reaching again at Shankhapark going through different places including Bishalnagar, Dhumbarahi and Peepalbot.
Speaker Mahara, Minister Basnet, secretary, employees of the Ministry, security personnel, employees of KMC and general people were present on the occasion. (RSS)
