Virginia- The newly elected office bearers and members of the Nepal America Journalist Association(NEAJA) have taken the oath from the head of the election committee headed by the journalist Angchiring Shrepa on Sunday amidst a special function here in Virginia.
Journalist Bikasraj Neupane has been elected as the president of Nepal America Journalist Association (NEAJA) form its 7th general convention held on July 24-25 in Virginia. Nuepane got 38 votes and secured his position as the president where as his opponent Gokul Dhakal bagged 22 and another candidate Anup Thapa got 21 votes. Suraj Bhandari elected as general secretary by receiving 41 votes and Prasan Alung Rai got 38 votes and became the second. Machhe Devi Gurung elected as Vice president securing 61 votes against Kishan Regmi who received 21 votes. Kalpana Ghimire and Pravat Bhattrai were unanimously elected as secretary and treasures whereas Shiva Nepal, Liladevi Ojha, Gokul Shrestha, and Sujan Pandit elected as coordinator of Westers, DC Metro, North East and South respectively. Anil Adhikari, Baburam Dhal. Sangham Baniya and Gyan Prasad Sharma were also unanimously elected as the central committee member of the association. Earlier, the convention was inaugurated by the president of Federation of Nepalese journalists, Bipul Pokhrel amidst a special program where around hundred journalists across the country were gathered
