San Francisco, June 16: Non Resident Nepali Association’s Americas Regional Experts’ Conference and seventh Annual General Meeting of NRN NCC of USA kicked off in San Francisco, California, on June 16.
Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari inaugurated the opening ceremony, and expressed current government’s commitment to protecting and ensuring the rights of non-resident Nepalis. “The government is determined to make required legislations to ensure the rights of the non-resident Nepalis that are enshrined in the Constitution of Nepal 2015,” the Minister said, adding that the opinions expressed by an individual cabinet minister or a political party member does not represent the state’s policy. “No one is above the law, and all rules and regulations about NRN rights will be ready within a year,” the minister said.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Ambassador of the Government of Nepal to the United States Dr. Arjun Karki stressed the need for the Nepali organizations in the US to respect and listen to each other. 
The program was attended by former ministers Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani and Rewati Bhusal as keynote speakers. NRN ICC President Bhaban Bhatta, patron Jiba Lamichhane, ICC Vice President Kumar Pant, General Secretary Dr. Badri KC spoke about the role of NRNs in Nepal’s development.
