Coronavirus pandemic has forced the closure of almost all schools in the United States, and many students have transitioned from face-to-face classes to online learning formats. For some of us, this is terrible. For others, it has been a pleasant experience. Online learning has lots of benefits, such as spending more time with family, having an easier time studying, and finally not worrying about our sleeping schedule. My experience learning online through google classroom has been amazing.
Online learning has been an amazing experience for me because I do not have to worry about “finishing late” or “doing this later.” I can take tests and quizzes anytime I want from the moment it has been assigned to its due date. My teachers usually give us about a week to submit an assignment or a test. Just last week, I had to take a math quiz. I procrastinated until the day it was due although I know that it is best to finish each assignment on the same day it is assigned.
Since our brick-and-mortar classrooms became virtual ones, I have spent more time with my family than I used to. The stay-at-home rule announced by President Donald Trump has kept most adults from going to work and doing many things we don’t normally do. Staying at home with my family has helped me make stronger bonds with my parents and my brother. Although my parents are hard at work until somewhere around the evening, they are still physically there with me and my brother. I always like to check on my dad and mom so I know when they are free and when I can spend time with them. I enjoy spending time with my family a lot.
Another advantage of online learning is that I don’t have to really worry about my sleeping schedule because my parents don’t enforce bedtime rules. I can wake up at almost anytime, go to google classroom, and complete my assigned work any time before the due date. Last Friday, I woke up at 9:47. I was supposed to be on Google Classroom at about 8:45! I am sure most other students have not followed the recommendations of school authorities to start learning as early in the morning as possible.
Online learning is pretty amazing. Although I miss my teachers and classmates and the pleasure of a face-to-face class, I have enjoyed online classes.
