Los Angeles, July 19:
Nepali community activists in Los Angeles are hosting a “meet and greet” event with Harry (HB) Bhandari, a Democratic Party candidate for Maryland’s State Delegate for the Eighth District, with an aim to galvanize financial and moral support for his campaign. The event is taking place at the local Shree Pashupatinath and Buddha Mandir’s community meeting hall on Sunday, July 22, at 6:00 PM, organizers said.
Bhandari had been trying to reach the Nepali community in Los Angeles for financial support even before he won the State primary held last month. He has appealed to the Nepali community organizations across the US to support his campaign. Ram Babu Pandey, California Chapter President of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRN) National Coordination Council of USA, Uma Karki Thapa, NRN NCC of USA Vice President, and Indira Tripathi, Women’s Coordinator, have jointly issued a statement and asked the Nepalese Angelinos to support Bhandari.
