Do you know how dinosaurs went extinct? Maybe you have guessed that an asteroid–a huge space rock that hit the earth—was responsible for the mass extinction. Paleontologists believe that the mass extinction was caused by an asteroid. Volcanos are partly responsible because when the asteroid hit the earth it made the magma rise and erupt. This article will elaborate how this all happened. You can also find the legend of Nessie. Maybe humans are also in danger of becoming extinct, and I hope it’s not an asteroid!
The mass extinction wiped out all the dinos, but that doesn’t mean it wiped out dinos from another period–only the cretaceous period witnessed mass extinction. It happened when the asteroid belt let go of an asteroid that aimed for planet earth. Dinos did not know this and acted normal. The asteroid caught on fire after it entered the earth’s atmosphere, which is like a blanket for the planet earth, and it keeps the earth in the perfect temperature– not too hot and not too cold.
When the mass extinction of dinosaurs happened, people thought that a plesiosaur – a marine reptile—lived, and that was right. The asteroid hit the water on the Gulf of Mexico. Nessie is now living in Loch river so they called her Loch Ness Monster (also called Nessie). People have not got a clear or good shot of Nessie. It is said many people have seen the classic hump of Nessie. Some people have even seen kraken s-c-a-l-e-s floating on the surface of the water (a kraken is a giant squid like monster).
Even before mass extinction happened, dinosaurs fought with each other in the cretaceous period. If you wonder what the Cretaceous is, you’re lucky. Cretaceous is one of the periods in the Mesozoic era. It is the 3rd period. It was the only period with flowers. The most epic battle started in this period. The two most knowable dinos in the world of dinos – t.rex and triceratops– fought with each other. I think the God chose to make the mass extinction in the last period so that all lives will be wiped out and new life will be created on the planet earth.
Have you wondered how Jurassic and Triassic dinos went extinct? Well, they just started dying, or maybe volcanoes erupted. It is so sad that all the dinos died, but if they were alive we would all be dead by now. If you are interested to know about the animals that went extinct, visit a dino museum or watch videos on dino extinction.
