NEW YORK, January: A 10-year-old Nepali child was struck and killed by a truck while he was crossing the street with his mother on Tuesday morning in Queens, media reports said.
According to CBS news, New York City Department of Sanitation truck ran over the mother and her son while it was pulling out of driveway around 7 a.m. near 57 Avenue and 97 Street. The rear tire hit the 40-year-old mother and her son, severing the woman’s leg and leaving tracks on the boy’s chest, CBS2’s Christina Fan reported.
Nepali community leader Sanjay Thapa has shared the news on his Facebook page and has identified the victims as the wife and son of Purushpttam Panthi.
Nepalese Americans all across the United States have been shocked by this tragedy.
